Steven James Murrell

DAVENPORT — Steven James Murrell, infant son of Stephanie and Thomas Murrell was silently born Monday, February 16, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.
The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home on Thursday, February19, 2009. Committal services will take place in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.
Memorials may be made to the family in Steven’s memory.
Steven is survived by his loving family which includes his parents, Stephanie and Tom; sisters, Taylor and Brooke all of Davenport; grandparents, Steve and Lisa Janney, Davenport, Michelle and Kevin Arborgast, Donahue, and Evelyn Murrell, Davenport; great-grandparents, Pauline Janney, Bettendorf, John and Patricia Ewert, Rock Island, Marcia Arborgast, Davenport; and great-great-grandparents, Ron and Katherine Brei, Muscatine, as well as numerous other aunts, uncles and family members.
His grandpa, James Murrell preceded him in death.

  I'm sorry for the loss of your son, I have a brother and sis-in-law who lost two children the same way. It's difficult to believe right now but life can go one. Please take good care, rest, get hugs, accept offered hands and remember there are people who love you, like the folks who have written as well as many others I'm sure.

  Although I don't know you, I feel your pain, and my heart hurts for you. It will be 19 years on the 12th of March, there hasn't been a day that I haven't wondered what she would be like. It was a time in my life that when I think about it now, I can't believe I even made it thru it. I would of given anything to of just heard her cry. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers, the devastation and hurt will ease in time, I know right now is one of the hardest things you will ever have to go through in your life, and although you don't have the answers, trust that God has His need for little Steven with Him. It's real easy to question yourself, and what if I did this, or maybe if I hadn't thought that, you'll have anger, depression, unanswered questions, you will have that forever. But with that being said.. you'll also have the gift of having Steven, although for a very short time, and nobody can ever take his memory and the love you have for him away, nothing can ever take that away. Please know that you have people that may not know you personally, but personally know your pain. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with every one of you. Cindy-Davenport

  I am so very sorry for your loss. The pain you are feeling is almost unbearable as is the sense of emptiness. Please remember there are others who have been where you are today, and we will join together in prayer for your beloved son, Steven James, you, Stephanie and Thomas, your daughters and extended families. Over time you will heal, but until then, accept all offers of help, avoid people who don't understand, find a friend that will do nothing but listen, and be good to yourselves.
